"If something goes wrong, a lot of people are like, 'What are we going to do!?' And I'm like: 'Something else.'" - Kara Swisher
Today's advice...
How to be Smarter:
Changing is to how gets much better answers: from your team, from your kids, from yourself. Is is a yes/no answer, how allows for open-ended, generally more optimistic, responses.
“Is there a way to do this?” —> “How could we do this?”
"Is it possible to fix this?" -> "How can we fix this?"
How to be Prettier:
I have been impressed with Abercrombie lately, especially their activewear and their blazers. It is a little pricy, but they have an active Clearance section and since it’s a well-known brand that is also well-made, it is easy to find on secondhand sites. I got a bunch of colorblock sweatshirts from Abercrombie on Poshmark about a month ago and I’ve been really happy with them.
How to be (less) Awkward:
These two quick stories from a dad about struggling to make small talk with other parents was so relatable and funny (watch from 8:15-10). Everyone is awkward sometimes!
